Preparing for a consultation about an IRS letter
· Robert Mayeri, attorney and Certified Public Accountant
An IRS letter usually identifies the tax years and the issue in question. Bringing the right documents to the initial consultation allows Mr. Mayeri to review the notice and the figures together.
What to bring
- The IRS notice or letter, with every page
- Your tax returns for the years the letter names
- Any correspondence already sent to the IRS, and any reply received
If you are unsure
Call the firm and describe the letter. You will be advised what to bring before the consultation.
This is general information, not advice for your situation.
